Ofsted Report
I have been rated 'Outstanding' on my last three Ofsted inspections.

-
The childminder has an exceptionally good understanding of how young children learn and develop. She provides children with innovative, challenging and interesting activities.
-
Children are happy, eager and demonstrate high levels of independence. The childminder knows the children very well. She ensures they have plenty of time to explore and investigate.
-
Children receive outstanding support to develop their communication and language.
-
An excellent variety of outdoor activities are available for the children to use. All aspects of children's learning are enhanced through the new and unusual activities available.

The Early Years Childcare Advisor from BCP makes regular visits. This is taken from the report after a visit on 22/5/2025:

Professional Development and Practice
You have expressed a strong commitment to professional development, prioritising training in areas such as Speech and Language to better support the children in your care.
Your Safeguarding Policy has been updated in preparation for the changes coming into effect in September.
You are aware of the new Nutrition Guidance (mandatory from September) and aim to balance respect for parental choice with appropriate guidance, particularly where lunchbox contents may not meet healthy standards.
You have read and reflected on the Better Start for Life document, particularly in relation to babies and children under two.
You recently participated in a detailed DfE survey via telephone, which you found to be comprehensive.
You discussed the Outdoor Spaces Consultation and considered the potential implications for your setting.
The Transition Portal is functioning well for your needs, although you noted that the data output does not print clearly, which may affect documentation.
Observations During Visit
Three children were present during the visit, all of whom were actively engaged in imaginative play. You consistently extended their learning by introducing new vocabulary and concepts. There is a clear love of books among the children. They independently bring library books to you, particularly those that expand their factual knowledge (e.g., about dinosaurs). The continuous provision was extensive, with high-quality resources available across all areas of learning. Older children demonstrated confidence in independent play, returning to you regularly for interaction and support. You maintain high expectations for children’s achievements, which is evident in their enthusiasm for learning. For example, you provided a thoughtful explanation of a child’s emotional response, showing deep understanding of their needs. You discussed toilet training, noting that several three-year-olds are still in nappies. Children were observed washing their hands independently before snack time, demonstrating good hygiene routines.
Your dedication to providing a nurturing, stimulating, and well-informed environment for the children in your care is clearly evident. It’s inspiring to see your proactive approach to professional development, your thoughtful attention to individual needs, and your commitment to continuous improvement. Keep up the excellent work—your efforts are making a meaningful difference in these children’s early learning journeys.
