Nature Detectives on St Catherine's Hill

On a wet and foggy Wednesday, we wrapped up and turned Autumn Nature Detectives on the Hill.

The inclement weather just added to our sense of adventure and discovery and very quickly the boys were taking photos of different fungi on my phone.

The thrill of being outdoors and running around excitedly meant we weren't even thinking about how far we had walked. We found huge cobwebs, watched the rings made by falling rain in the puddles, we breathed in the wonderful damp smell of the forest floor, we found ripening blackberries, we climbed, we jumped, we learnt to manage risks, we developed social skills, independence, our health and sense of well-being.

We were explorers and we were having FUN.
